About Me:
Katy Foley

I am a senior anticipating graduation in June 2021 from the University of Denver. During my undergraduate career I have pursued a double major in Socio-Legal Studies and Public Policy with a minor in Writing. I was born in New York City but quickly moved out west to Portland, Oregon, with my mom and twin sister. Growing up in an all-female household in a progressive city greatly influenced my values, in addition to having been raised in an ardently Democratic family. I was inspired by my involvement in Colorado politics, having worked as an intern with Colorado State Representative James Coleman of House District 7, and then serving as his Legislative Aide during the session’s interim. After this I worked as a Legislative Intern for Congresswoman Diana DeGette and then interning for John Hickenlooper’s 2020 Senate campaign. I took off the fall quarter of my senior year to work for his campaign when I was recruited for a full-time position. Since moving to Colorado, I have loved exploring the adventures the state has to offer: Proximity to the mountains and beautiful hikes, amazing skiing, and the downtown scenery are a few of the activities that bring me joy in my time away from work and studies.
